Co-founder of The Bottle Bank, Nick moved to the South West after eight years of living in cold, wet Yorkshire finally drove him back South to Cornwall in search of the better weather he remembered from growing up in St. Austell.
Nick brings many years of retail experience to the business, along with a passion for hearty red wine and German beer (a love he picked up while living in Germany).
A lover of all things Italian, if you need a passionate recommendation for a full-bodied Puglian red or a zesty white Tuscan delight, he’s your man!
Jake joined The Bottle Bank in 2017 and helps ensure the smooth running of the business (when he’s not tidying up after Lewis). He’s the master of all things mailorder and ensures boxes are packed and shipped on time and in one piece.
When he’s not busy with a tape gun (or eyeing up the Amarone), he’s usually busy absorbing wine knowledge and adding to his list of ‘must-try’ wines.
Physicist, software developer, wine aficionado. Lewis caught the wine bug when he was working as a wine advisor for Oddbins in Yorkshire and devoted his time to developing his palette, moving up the professional ladder and gaining one or two wine qualifications all while entertaining his slightly extravagant penchant for red Burgundy and Blanc des Blancs Champagne.
Upon moving to Falmouth in 2008, he saw a gap in the market for an interesting, reasonably-priced, convenient off-licence in the centre of town and so, along with Nick, founded The Bottle Bank.
He’s not so hands-on these days but there’s a good chance you’ll catch him keeping abreast of the range of a Friday evening.
An enthusiastic drinker of white Burgundy, Northern Italian whites and anything involving Torrontes. You’ll usually find her ensuring the shop is impeccably neat and tidy.
